Welcome to Future Flight Leaders—a program built by flight clinicians, for flight clinicians. Whether you're stepping into a new role or striving to grow as a base lead or field training officer (FTO), this program is designed to elevate your impact and support your growth in air medical transport.
We created this initiative because we remember what it felt like to be driven by passion and purpose, but unsure how to navigate leadership responsibilities. The excitement of hearing a helicopter approach or watching a crew in action—those moments still fuel us. But now, our mission has evolved: we're here to empower others who share that same energy and commitment.
Our team of experienced FTOs, base leads, and flight clinicians are here because they believe in giving back—and in shaping the future of this industry through strong, intentional leadership.

The Future Flight Leaders program connects you with experienced professionals from air medical transport programs across the United States. These active flight clinicians bring a diverse, national perspective on the transport industry and are committed to equipping the next generation of leaders with the insights and tools needed to thrive. Simply put, you’ll be guided and mentored by the very people who live this work every day.
Our team is made up of passionate, active flight crew members who volunteer their time for one reason: they’ve been in your shoes. They remember what it was like to wish for mentorship as they took on roles like field training officer or base lead. Now, they’re here to offer the support they once needed—because they understand the value of meaningful guidance.
We’ll work with you to evaluate your background, set goals, and make the most of every opportunity moving forward. Together, we’ll build a personalized roadmap for your career. Every journey is unique, and we’re here to help you make yours count. With dedication and direction, you'll rise above the competition—and stand out as a future leader in the field.
Program
Outline
FFL is a 10-week online program with focused modules and weekly meetings on leadership, communication, and team management. Students will also attend our annual Public Safety Aviation conference in person!
While the program is free, students are responsible for their own travel expenses.

Minimum of 2 years of flight experience

Current FP-C or CFRN certification

Current or aspiring Field Training Officer and Base Lead

Be able to attend ECHO Louisville Conference

Letter of Recommendation from your Supervisor
