JUSTIN POWERS
EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP
About the Justin Powers Education Scholarship
Sergeant Justin Powers served in the United States Army as a dedicated DUSTOFF Paramedic with the Massachusetts Army National Guard, C Co, 3-126 AVN “Patriot DUSTOFF.” Justin was deployed to Iraq and Syria in 2023. While at home in Massachusetts, he continued his commitment to public service as a Firefighter-Paramedic for the Town of Avon and demonstrated his passion for education as a member of the Boston MedFlight Simulation Team.
On December 24, 2024, Paramedic Justin T. Powers lost his battle with PTSD.
After graduating from Walpole High School in Walpole, Massachusetts, Justin began his career in public service in EMS and mental health, serving as both an EMT and an American Heart Association (AHA) educator at a local inpatient psychiatric facility. Driven by a lifelong commitment to learning and growth, he advanced his career in paramedicine across both civilian and military settings. Embracing challenges, he completed the demanding process of becoming a DUSTOFF Flight Paramedic. As a TNCC instructor, Justin was known for his sharp wit, sense of humor, and larger-than-life smile—traits that defined his presence both professionally and personally. He was proud to serve across all three of his roles, building lasting relationships and meaningful connections throughout his career, and was a valued volunteer educator for ECHO.
Above all, Justin was deeply proud and excited for the expected birth of his twin sons in 2025.
To honor his life and legacy, Justin’s family, Stay Fit 4 Duty, and Boston MedFlight, in conjunction with Every Coast Helicopter Operations (ECHO), is honored to announce the Justin T. Powers Education Scholarship in his memory.
