Legacy Scholarship

About the Timothy Gortney Legacy Scholarship

The Timothy Gortney Legacy Scholarship was established in 2023 in honor of a past FFC Graduate's father who was always proud, always encouraging, and wished for success for his son to earn his wings. 
The scholarship aims to provide the following:

  • $1,500 toward costs associated with the selected FFC student's required travel to the annual Public Safety Aviation Conference (airfare and hotel accommodations)

  • 100% of costs associated with the web-based initial exam fees to obtain the IBSC Flight Paramedic Certification (FP-C)

  • All funds are reimbursed to the student with proof of receipts


To qualify for the scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Nationally Registered Paramedic with >3 years experience

  • Current FFC student in good standing

  • Not actively employed as a Flight Paramedic


To complete the application, you must have the endorsement and recommendation of a Director of the ECHO Future Flight Crew.


Scholarship winners are announced annually at the Public Safety Aviation Conference. One recipient per year.
